There is no more a reason for making art than there is for writing poetry, engaging in philosophical discussion or wondering about an afterlife. These are things that humans do simply because we are equipped for it. Like fighting, competing, and complaining, and in spite of all the evidence to the contrary, we use these tools to claim that our lives matter.
Biography: Born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, I was educated in three different Eastern provinces: BFA (Art Ed), Sir George Williams University; MFA (Studio) Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec and BEd (Honours), University of Toronto in Ontario. I taught studio art and later, computer graphics for almost 30 years at Upper Canada College in Toronto before taking an early retirement from teaching in 2006. My wife and I moved to (Port Dalhousie) St. Catharines in the pleasant Niagara region of Ontario.
